Well tonight I thought I'd search some family history, and look what I found! I'm here in Arizona and like all of you my father Charles Cmeyla in from Milwaukee, my grandfather was Melvin Cmejla. So, I see some familiar names and some unfamiliar names, this is GREAT!

Aaaaggghh! Your Dad is my cousin! Melvin was my uncle and godfather! My Dad was Andrew Joseph, and he had 7 of us..6 girls and 1 boy (well, not kids, but!) Someone in the family changed the "j" to a "y" - confusing enough anyway for pronunciation! I found out in the computer (where else?) that the first Cmejla (joseph) and wife (Elizabeth) with 2 kids, came over from Bohemia via Bremen Germany Sept 5, 1857, to get to "Visconsin" (this was a German ship - remember?) name of ship is Aeroquater. Grandpa was Charles B> Cmejla - nicknamed Brownie - family start seemed to be Algoma, Wi. They had 5 kids - Melvin, Elizabeth, Marie, Andrew and John Ralph. Grandma was Emma Guillaume, whose family came from Belgium. P.S. we kids called your Dad Chuckie - that is, cousin Terese, Pat and myself, and Gary and Joe etc. Egad, small world!! Also, common male names seem to be Charles, Joseph Andrew, Michael, maybe a Frank or two...
