Yup, related...my sister put a whole thing together on genealogy.com with a lot of Cmejlas/Cmeylas on it..I looked up Bertha, who married John, whose father was Josef and mother Barbara who were born in Bohemia, and migrated here.....it's an interesting read of all the relatives!! I found the site accidentally...it's under genealogy.com - my genealogy - put in the name Cmejla or Cmeyla - it'll show up - go to individuals..lots of names there until you get to Cmeyla/Cmejla...so you are related!! Hi Cuz!!

Genealogy.com will not let me look at the individuals without subscribing, so I guess I will keep searching outside of the big payment sites.

I'll tell you how I accidentally found my sister's site: In Yahoo, in the "search box" I typed: Cmejla family Kewaunee County Wisconsin" It popped up 2 items. the first being "My geneaology home page" I clicked on that and it came to page of sources...I went to the "home page" and lo and behold was my sisters' name J Fuhs...various headings to check out - individuals...all listed are related - go down to Cmejla, then Cmeyla...we're all there! Good Luck!!

Are you still looking for Cmejla or Cmeyla? There are a bunch of us in the U.S. coming from Wisconsin. The first ones in this country were Josef and Barbara Cmejla who were born in Bohemia about 1834, left on the ship Aequator, arriving in US about 1857..had a lot of kids...farming mostly..name changed (by my Grandpa Charles B. to avoid confusion in pronouncing..but Cmejla is original name. Barbara's maiden name was Hilenbrandt or like that. They had two kids with them - Franz and Elizabeth. History is fun!

Roman, I think I sent you a message some time ago..did you get it? We just had a cousin reunion up in NE Wisconsin. There are a lot of us out there...but some moved away from Wisconsin. It follows that our ancestor, Joseph Cmejla, and wife Barbara with 2 kids, Franz and Elizabeth came over here in 1857 Sep. They had a lot of children, my great grandfather, was Franz, and I think that Cmejla or Cmeyla here is not a common name out in Bohemia...if y ou could find out if Josef had brothers and sisters, his parents, e tc and where from, and did any other immigrate here. So then maybe I could say Hello Cousin!!
