I wonder if someone will explain this timeline for me. I have seen that Margaret Anna Sea Kinder and Anna Cliatt were the same woman, married to Peter Kinder first, then Isaac Cliett. I am wondering how this can be so.
Here:
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&d... it states that Peter died in 1809, but this would have been long after all Isaac's children were born. Another Peter Kinder died in Augusta County, Virginia around 1754, but that would have made Margaret much too old to have had Isaac's children and would have precluded his ability to have fought in the Revolution.
That link also states Peter Kinder and Margaret Anna Sea married 1774 in Virginia. This was after the date of birth I have for Jesse Cliett (1770). It states their son David Kinder was born 1779, again after at least one of Isaac's children.
Margaret's Revolutionary War pension application was denied because Peter didn't serve at least 3 months. The application was processed in Wythe County, Virginia, not Georgia. Not too far-fetched, though Isaac and all of his children were born in Georgia. David Kinder, Peter's son, was married in Georgia.
http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?rank=1&new=1&...I have yet to be able to find Margaret's actual application, the testimony therein, or any of the land transfers used to prove the link between Anna Cliett and Peter Kinder. Does anyone know where I can find these documents? It's certain there were as many as three Peter Kinders (as one is still living in Wythe County, Virginia after both of the death dates listed above), and some of these dates may be wrong as well.
