Hello, I found your message on a genealogy site about Catherine Clucas who I believe is my gt, gt grandmother. I know that she married Henry Lace who died at sea and I thought they only had one child ,also Catherine Lace but I could be wrong though if you are also related to her that would have meant that there were possibly more children. Hope you can help.

Hi Wanda;
I finally got around to updating the information that I have. You are looking for CHARLOTTE Clucas, not Catherine. John Grose married Charlotte in Patrick, IOM in 1845. They appear to have had a son shortly after they got married, but I don't think he lived very long. All their other children were born in the US.
In 1871, John Grose was living in Cleveland with his new wife, Sarah Jane Henderson and 4 children from his previous marriage.
I haven't been able to get any further on Matthew Grose - although I know that he was a mining agent on the IOM.
