William and Betty Clubb parents of Lewis/Louis Clubb

William and Betty Clubb parents of Lewis/Louis Clubb

Surnames: Clubb, Badine, Bodine
I'm trying to find my grandfathers relatives.

My grandfather, (Lewis Clubb B: 1883 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri) my father once told me was an orphan. All his immediate family was suppose to have been killed in a well poisoning. The first I am able to reliably trace him back to is Manila Arkansas and his marriage to Hettie Smith.

He was suppose to have been adopted by a member of his family, (I'm not sure who or which side).

I have found recently on Ancestry his death certificate which list his father as William and mother as Bettie Badine, (Basine or Bodine the handwriting is a little unclear).

I have since found a William and Betty listed in an 1880 census living in Cape Girardeau, Missouri but because my grandfather wasn't born for another three years I can't tell if I have the correct William and Betty.

I have since taken the DNA test hoping to find something that way but all it has done so far is confuse the issue.

Anyway is there anyone out there who can point me in the right direction, (ie family stories that mention an adoption or deaths of an entire family)?

Thanks for reading this far.
Harold

Harold,

I am a Y-DNA tested person trying to establish contact with a surnamed CLUBB living in the USA who has also Y-DNA tested. I see his markers on a public website but they are without an ancestral record other than 'United States'. The markers are of interest to me in that they are substantially identical with the family to whom I belong. There is good reason to think that an
NPE or an adoption may be present in this CLUBB lineage and I may be able to provide good leads to this CLUBB DNA testee.
In any event, if you will contact me at gfr@logic.bm we may be able to have a successful research conversation.

George
