How old is your Lydia Smith? I have one born in 1870 in Plymouth Meeting PA. Don't know who she married. Any connection?

Hi!

I just saw your message. I, too am looking for a Lydia Smith who married David Fink in Mifflin, PA. She would have been born 1850-1860's. Have had very little luck pursuing this line.

Thanks for your reply. Joann

Hi Leon. Just now saw your message. My Lydia was the youngest of 8 children born to Robert and Lydia Smith in Conshohocken, PA. I think she was born in December of 1869 (according to the 1870 census). Her other siblings are Charles, Robert, Thomas, Isabella, Anna, Margaret and Mary J. JoAnn

Hi JoAnn

Thanks for your reply regarding Lydia Smith.

Was she Irish?

Hi. She might have been. Her mother (also Lydia) first married Hefenfinger and then Robert Smith, who was Irish. But Lydia, born 1869, was born in PA.

Hi All,

Thanks for all the Lydia Smith info. The Lydia I originally posted the query about had connections to Luzerne County, PA. She was Welsh, I believe. The Clockers, I am told, are English. Lydia's son, Edward, was a coal miner and laborer.

Just saw this post and was wondering what your relationship is to Lydia Smith? My name is Ron Shields. I live in NY. Lydia Smith's mother Lydia Townsend is my 3rd great grandmother. Lydia Townsend (b. 1827) was 1st marrried to Jacob Heffenfinger. She had 2 children with him. After he died she married Robert Smith and had 8 more children. It is through the Heffenfinger children that I am related to her. The younger Lydia smith married Henry Shreve.
