Hello all,

I am researching the Irish descendents of Cliburn who spell their name Clibborn.

It seems my more recent Clibborn ancestors came from Moate in County Westmeath, Ireland, c1800.
I am in touch with five or six from this Quaker line and one Clayburn.

Best wishes, Ron in Hong Kong, China

Surnames: CLIBURN, CLIBORNE
Hello Ron, good to hear from you again. I'm still researching my CLIBURN's and various spellings.I know that the CLIBURN name is from the Westmoreland area of England but something in the back of my mind recalls Grandmother Sarah, (she was Scottish, a McLEOD), talking about Ireland and CLIBURN's, of course she is gone (1970's) and I can't get past Grandfather, J..P. CLIBURN (Joseph Peterson, I think his middle name is perhaps a surname on his mothers side..??). Have you come across the CLIBURN spelling in your Ireland research? If you do please post to the board so all of us can see. Thank you for posting to my new board and as I do research I'll be looking for this and all other spellings that pop up including those spelt with a "K". Talk with you later.
