Hi, I am out of Reuben son of Jacob, 1750-55.

My e-mail is r.clearwater.arch@comcast.net. If you are willing, let us exchange information. I have a very complete line from Jacob, 1750-55 to me. I knew that there are Clearwaters in Oregon. In fact, if you check all the entries on this message board you will probably find some other folks looking for Oregon Clearwater.

Cheers,

The Jacob Clearwaters that is the father to the decendents
of Cloyd is not the same Jacob that you have from Holland.
If you have some proof of the connection, I would be so
happy to tie into the New Paltz Jacob. I have our Jacob
as the brother of Benjamin that fought in the Rev. War
in N.C. Jacob was on the tax rolls in 1790 in N.C.

What proof did you find that Jacob and Benjamin are brothers? I suspect they are, or at least some kind of kin, but I couldn't find anything definite.

I am from the Martin W Clearwaters b1813 OH (son of David Clearwaters c1781NC) that you mention. You state that he has a sister Elizabeth Ann Clearwaters b1817 IN. Would you share the info you have on her? And do you show them having another sister, Matilda Clearwaters c1816?

I think that it was a guess because they were both in N.C.
and Benjamin fought in the Rev. War at Guilford's Courthouse. Jacob was a Quaker and helped built the
stockade to hold the British prisoners and stood guard
for 106 days.
We went to Guilford Co., N.C. a few years back and did
research and then went to Green Co., TN to their courthouse
also. We also went to the Quaker Church they attended. I
guess he was put out of the church for "frolicking".

That is interesting about what he actually did to get paid during the Revolutionary War. Did you also visit Randolph County Courthouse? I found an old map of Guilford County, and based on some court records about the laying out of a road, I found was able to determine the approximate location of where Jacob lived near/on the Guilford/Randolph county line.

Hi Cindy,

I've recently started tracing my mother's family tree (Clearwater), and have run into some difficulties. My mother Kenina (although she goes by "Nina") is one of the daughters of Helen. As Helen was my grandmother, I have all the names of her children and her husband, but as for her siblings, I'm having difficulty finding out all of their spouses and children. For the men, I know that Ralph was married to Clair Mae Rushton; Lloyd was married to Mary George; Buster was married to Mildred Maunu, but I don't know if Oren was ever married, nor do I know the names of any of their children. For the women, I know that Helen (my grandmother) was married to Kenneth Arrand and had 6 children; Gladys was married with children, although I can't find any records of her marriage or the children; Alice was married to Earl McPhee but I don't know if they had any children, and I have very little information on Irene except for her death certificate. Can you fill in any of the blanks?

Also, Ella's last name was Eppard, and depending where you look, she is either listed as Lydia Ella Eppard or Lydia Eppard or Ella Eppard. So confusing!!!

Regards,
Dawn Clark (York)

Dawn, are you saying your grandmother's name was Helen Clearwater, and Buster was her brother? I have some of his siblings listed (Ralph, Loyd, Oren, Gladys, Alice) but I never found a Helen. Buster and Mildred had two children, Marlene and Dale. Marlene married Richard Colston, and they had a daughter, Cindy. I contacted Cindy on FB and she knew nothing about the Clearwater family, and her mother had a stroke and can't remember things. I went back to a US membership so didn't follow through on any of the other Canadian Clearwaters. I was tracing all of my 3rd great-grandfather David Clearwater's children and their offspring to see where they all ended up is how I came to find the Canadian Clearwater folks.
