Hi Rodger do you have any information on an Emanuel slade Cleal or Cleall, it is thought that he was born in beaminster, south perrot, Dorset to perhaps a Judith Slade and a james Cleall in 1842-45?? is there any information on his parents and siblings? he eventually migrated to australia and married a scottish immigrant Joanna Mcivor. thanks

Hi kchai1,
Please contact me in regard to Emanuel Slade Cleal. I am descended from his eldest daughter Emily. I believe it may have been you who has also been in contact with another descendant, Julie Werner, in the last few day? I've gathered quite a bit of info on Emanuel and Johanna over the years,
Cheers,
Di

I believe we are related. Henry Cleal was an ancestor of mine and my grandfather, Arthur Cleal, came from the Ransom,Ill area. My cousin researched our background and much of what you have posted sounds very familiar. My maiden name was Cleal. Franklin Donald Cleral was my father. We grew up in Rolfe,Iowa and had relatives in Ransom.

name Cleal

The name Cleal supposedly means cartwright - maker of horse carts. My father was Don Cleal, Grandfather was Arthur Cleal and supposedly Henry Cleal was a great great grandfather?
