There are errors in the information presented in the "Ed Clarno" book. I am John Harold Clarno's daughter. Helen Clarno was his oldest daughter by his first marriage to Helen MCConnell. My understanding is that she left the family for some reason and did remarry. She is, in fact, now deceased. When, I don't know. When she left the first marriage, she had 3 children, and left them behind.

This I heard from bits and pieces as I grew up.

Clarno Ancestry

I am a descendent of John Hunter Clarno to James Monroe Clarno to Elmer Clarno to Robert Hugh Clarno, Sr. to me, Robert Hugh Clarno, Jr.
I am interested in finding exactly where we came from. I know there is a family story of us coming from France, but I can find no evidence of that, including the fact that there are no French First names in the family "tree". I have checked French last names and cannot find any even near the spelling of Clarno, but I have found Clarno (Clarvoe) in Glouscester England in the 1600s. The records on micro film for the 1700s (for Glouscester) are unreadable, but their are readable records from the 1600s showing Clarno and Clarvoe. Does anyone have any information to add? I'm still open to origins outside of England if solid evidence shows up.

Hi, I am also descended from the same line. I have Ed's book and have shared all my info with him and him with me. Would be happy to compare with you. Mainly I am starting to work on our origins. So far I have found the Clarno (Clarvo) name in England (Gloucester county) in the 1600s. The 1700s microfilm of records from that area are unreadable, so I am working on talking directly to libraries or other sources in the Gloucester. I have the names of a couple of towns there that I will share when I get home from my vacation. I hope to hear from you soon.

Maybe McMinville. Anyway, I would like to know who her parents were. Nobody seems to know.

I got a family history book at a reunion about 10 (or more) years ago. Grandma's history wasn't in there. I am Calvin Elmer Schiermeister Sr's grandaughter thru his son Calvin Elmer Schiermeister Jr. My great grandparents were Karl and Sophie Schiermeister. How are you related :D.
Mr. Robert Hugh Clarno,

The French spelling is Clarneau. And here is a link to our family tree. I think it was made by Roland Lee Grenzow. Anyway your ancestral line is on it as well. It is a PDF document that has a search bar in the top middle of page. Type in your name and it will highlight the area where your name is with a blue box. To show the legitimacy, you've had two wives, and with your second wife you had 10 kids (if I am reading it correctly) and three were adopted. I actually come from the line with George Washington Clarno. My father is Eugene Lyle, and I am Dianne Michelle. I heard from Newell Jr that someone was planning a Clarno Reunion in 2010, but have no other details. Good Luck with your search. And feel free to reply @ dmfoote@hotmail.com

Thanks,

Dianne

http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/g/r/e/Rolland-Lee...

I have not been able to find any official record showing the name "Clarneax or anything near that. I would be interested in any info you might have on that spelling.

Hi Dianne
My name is michelle wagoner Iam answering to see if we are
related. My grandfathers name was Patrick Andrew Clarno I dont know how many were in his family. He was married to Kathryn Reinhardt(Clarno).Recently my mother and I were talking about the family tree and apparantly there was a John Prentiss back in the past which we could investigate. Also looking I found a Eugene Clarno which I know is related to us. My grandmother does have the family crest unless,Eugene took it with some of the family history when my grandmother died in 1995.Iam curious to find out somemore about my grandfather. Sincerely Michelle Wagoner
