My gt gt grandmother, Maria Clarke, was born in Portumna, County Galway, Ireland, circa 1825. Her parents were John and Eliza Clarke. She may have had a brother or other relative named Richard Clarke. Maria emigrated to Australia on the ship "Earl Grey" in 1841, and subsequently married William Ruffle (born Twinstead, Essex circa 1807) in 1842. Does anyone have a connection to Maria or the Clarke family of County Galway? All help appreciated.
