Info handed down from generations says that someone on my mothers side of the family was a full blood Cherokee indian. From what I have found from posts from distant relatives on rootsweb.com, everyone seems to believe that John Frank Claiborne's wife, Cora Lee happens to be the indian, but we currently cannot find any proof of that. If Castleberry was Cora's last name, some of the census reports show her to be from Illinois. Was it possible that during the Trail of Tears she and her family passed through Illinois and called it home before moving down to southern Oklahoma where others have posted that she was later from?

If anyone has any info on either Cora Lee Castleberry or John Frank Claiborne it would be GREATLY appreciated.
