Re: Clackett family research in New York & england
I am looking for info regarding Frances Clackett who was my great grandmother. I am especially interested in the family into which she married -- Lewry. Her husband"s name was George Lewry, also from the Lewry family from England.
Thanks.

My grandfather was Francis Lewry Hopkins. He was named after his paternal grandmother Elizabeth M. Lewry (abt. 1834-abt. 1900), the wife of John Wing Hopkins (1836-1869). Francis' parents were Charles W. Hopkins and Isabel Catherine Murray. I believe Elizabeth Lewry was born on Staten Island in New York. Her husband was born in Brewster, Mass. I believe Elizabeth Lewry's parents were Samuel Lewry (abt. 1814-?) and Mary Wheeler. I think they were both born in England. I would like to know, more, if you have any information.
