I am looking for info on Belinda Elizabeth Clack. She was born in Mississippi about 1834. She claimed to be of Choctaw lineage. She married William Bennett McBride. They were living in Rankin County Mississippi in 1850, 1870 and 1880. I have been unable to find any info on Belinda before her marriage to William. I would love to find someone who has more info on her or is related to her. I believe that they were married in Rankin County. The name Belinda was sometime reported as Melinda. There is a marriage record for Malinda E. Johnson and William D. McBride 21 feb 1849. I believe this to be their marriage record but i am unsure were the johnson came from. William Bennett Mcbride was in the 6th miss. inf. reg co a. as a private. I have found the following children in census and other records. Janie, Susie, Ida, Nancy Susie, William Dole, Louis, Lewis/Louis D. Neida C., Laura, ann mollie, eugene lafate, edward eddie jackson, A. A. could be ada. all of these children were born between 1850-1878 in Rankin County, Mississippi.

I believe that Melinda Elizabeth Clack is living in the house hold of John C Clack and Susan Chapman in Rankin County. mississippi in 1840. She and another female child are to old to be Susan's daughters. It is possible that Jane and Melinda are daughter from a first wife who may have been a full blood choctaw as Melinda was said to be half chocotaw.

Dear Lee & Shelley Lynch,
I am seeking a Naomi Clack born about 1810 in Georgia. I have a hunch John C. Clack b. abt 1812 had a sister who could be my lost Indian woman named Naomi Clack. Are there any Indian Census records 1790-1850 for Simpson or Rankin Counties in MS? My research found Naomi Clack is married in 1832 to John Beasley Campbell of Campbell's Creek, Cato, Simpson, MS. Naomi is John Beasley's second wife; they had 4 children; Hamilton K(1836)., Seaborne W(1839)., Alexander(1842), and Louis C.(1850) before she dies before 1857. John Beasley Campbell & Naomi Clack are buried at Flowry Mound Plantation, Concordia, Louisiana.
