Do any of the Clabby's out there trace their ancestry back to County Roscommain, city of Strokestown? If so, I would like to hear from you. My great grandfather, John Clabby, came to this country in the 1800's and settled in York, Nebraska. He had (at least) 2 brothers, William & Nicholas. Their father was also named John Clabby, and he is buried in Co Roscommain.

I am researching the family of John Clabby and Mary Campbell from Roscommon Ireland.I am looking for the marriage of his son John Clabby, b. 1814 to Elizabeth Keenan. Were they married in Ireland or New York? They later moved to Rock Co. Wisconsin > York Co. Nebraska.
Bill Clabby - will you please contact me privately, I have more to share and have been trying to contact you. Sue Quintana

I am kevin Clabby.
I am originally from Longford and now i live in south Roscommon. My grandfather is from a place called Erra in County Roscommon and moved to Longford where he raised his family including my father. My aunt Dympna moved to USA almost 50 years ago and she died last year in New Jersey where she lived in Clifden, Passaic County. She has left no family there.
My grandfathers brother went to US and settled in Montana and family from ther have visited Ireland but I have not met them.
There is a family of Clabby in Kilmore, Strokestown, County Roscommon. Strokestown is just a asmall country town and population would be about 1000. So it is not a city by any means.
i have not set about checking if those Clabbys are my relatives and indeed i have not followed the family tree at all.
Is any of this any help to you?
Kevin Clabby
