Sorry for the long delay in responding. I first met Marilyn in 1969 and we dated through 1973. Marilyn was on her way to Fisher Junior College in Boston and I was headed to Providence. In any event, her family was wonderful. Larry was a truly nice guy who worked as a steel salesman. Betty was just a nice mom type, who worked until she needed to care for her elder son, Bob. Paul was the youngest -- a nice young boy as I remember, but somewhat overlooked because of the focus on his older brother. Still, Bob was a nice guy, just troubled. That world, in fact, seemed to describe the family. As I was dating Marilyn, she learned she had a severe case of diabetes and ended up at that Jocelyn Cl inc in Boston. She was such a pretty young girl, everyone fell in love with her including Mary Tyler Moore, who was also at the clinic. She actually gave us free tickets to a show, and as 19-year-olds, that meant a lot.

After her two years at Fisher, Marilyn attended UCONN as a sociology major. She ended up meeting and marrying Andrew Jasnos in 1974, I believe. I ran into a close girlfriend of hers not long ago, who filled in the blanks. Marilyn apparently had a daughter, was a great mom, but really did not take care of her diabetic condition, which lead to her premature death in 1996, I believe. It broke my heart to learn of that event.

I have been looking for pictures of Marilyn for years. I know she appeared in the Boston Globe sometime in 1971 or early 1972 as the opening photo of an entire section of the paper. She looked beautiful!! I wanted to marry her, but never had the guts -- or brains to do so : )

I also contacted Paul, but to no avail. Since Betty and Larry are gone, I have no idea where Andrew is or Marilyn's daughter, for that matter. I was told their marriage ended in divorce.

Best of luck searching your family.

Best regards,

Peter

Hi James

Have just purchased your biography on the Indiana Wasp, Which I'm still in the middle of reading at this time, what a great read most informative on the great man . I was most pleased to see that you have mentioned my great grandfather Harry Duncan in their meeting in London Olympia 1911. I thought you might be interested in my web site on Harry , there's a nice article on Jimmy's and Harry's meeting written by Harry for a newspaper, you can find it under the heading "My Hardest Fight", hope you find it of interest

Addendum: Marilyn's daughter,Lauren Jasnos Youngsma, was kind enough to reach out with an update. She and her husband have three lovely children and reside in Fl. Lauren is a close ringer for her mom, and her daughter and two young boys carry on that "family tradition". The Internet is such a wonderful place to reconnect with long-lost family and friends.
