I'm searching for descendents of Nicholas Clabby, born February 1853 in Connecticut (possibly Bridgeport), and died December 6, 1933 in Queens, New York. Nicholas married Catherine Miles, daughter of Michael and Catherine Miles, born November, 1855 in New York and died October 21, 1919 in Queens, New York.
Nicholas and Catherine had ten children -- all born in New York, probably brooklyn. The children were Katherine, Thomas Joseph, Nicholas Francis, James Edward, Stephen Aloysious, Leo George, Vincent A, John Valentine, Grace, and Arthur Joseph.
In particular, I would like to know info about Nicholas' birth in Connecticut and his parents origin/births in Ireland. I'd also like info about the origin of Catherine's parents and grandparents in Ireland.
Thanks

Do you know Tom Clabby? I met him some time ago while we lived in Annapolis Maryland. He was living in Bowie, Maryland at the time and indicated he was related to Nicholas Clabby from New York.

Jim, good to hear from you. Tom exchanged some information with my father-in-law a number of years ago and I have that information (my wife is the Clabby). I have never been able to trace the Clabby family back to Ireland based on the brief information Tom provided about Nicholas. Nor have I been able to find Nicholas in the US 1860 census in Connecticut or anywhere else.
Tom provided Bumlin, County Roscommon as Nicholas' birthplace but I can't confirm that. Where is your family from?
