Hi kevin, I am looking for my mums G,G grandparents who came from kilmore, roscommon, Ireland, they went to scotland after their marriage sometime before 1856 and there names were James Clabby 1833 - 1900 and Catherine Reynolds 1843 - 1897. I was wondering as Kilmore is small and very near to longford, could there be a connection to any of your ancestors?

I am Kevin Clabby from longford originally and now live in County Roacommon.I do not know of Cabby at Shrule Co. Mayo but I know the village. it is on the border of Mayo and Galway and previously I have not heard of Clabby's from there. You may be surprised at me saying this as if I should know everyone but Ireland is like that and I will enquire if there are Clabbys there and post a response. I have very little time at present to do more. Regards, Kevin

Hello, I do believe we do have a connection. My Great Great Grandmother was Sarah Clabby born 08/06/1867. If I have worked it all out properly she was your great grandfather James' sister. And is the daughter of Catherine Reynolds and James Clabby. I know that Catherine Reynolds Parents were John Reynolds and Sarah Byrne. and that James's parents were John Clabby 1811c and Margaret Maloney 1832c.
hope this helps. emma xx
