Hello. My name is Jim Clabby. I live in Washington Crossing Pennsylvania but was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. My father's family came from Providence, RI and later moved to Norwich, CT. My grandfather's brother James "Pop" Clabby was father to Jimmy Clabby, world famous boxer who fought from 1906-1923. He was my father's first cousin. I have published his biography in a 6 X 9 softcover of 250 pages. He fought extensively in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and England. Won several championships. He was known throughout the world. My book is entitled "The Indiana Wasp The Jimmy Clabby Story". If you are intersted you can see it on Amazon.com books among other sites. I visited Australia last year and attended The Australian National Boxing Hall of Fame Dinner at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Jimmy Clabby was inducted into the ANBHOF in October of this year (2010). I have a lot of information on this side of the Clabby family and would be happy to share with you.

Hi, my grandmother was Ellen Clabby, her father, James Clabby, born about 1860 in Longford Ireland, probably Drumlish or vacinity. He helped my great grand mother on my mother's father's side, Bridget Kiernan, take a pig or cow from her father's farm and sell it for passage to America.

My mother's cousin, Eleanore Rooney visited Ireland in the 1970s and saw the family house that had just gotten a new non-thatched roof, however no one can find her records/research. James Clabby's Death Certificate has that his parents were John Clabby and Catherine Corrigan. What is the best way to research this from the US? or does anyone else have any info that might help?

If you can e-mail me at york3m@aol.com that might be easier as I am not quite sure how these message boards work.

Thanks!
