Ellen!

I too am descended from GW Clabaugh through his daughter Lucy Clabaugh. Would be happy to give you access on Family Tree Builder.

I have been trying to find out if there is a relationship between Frederich Clabaugh and Martin Clabaugh. Cousins or brothers? Several years ago I did meet a Clabaugh in WI whose ancestor was Frederich Claubaugh whose first son was named John as well as several generations after that. It was the same with Martin Clabaugh. Martin had an ancestor named Johann (John).

The passage below was sent to me a year or so ago by Carroll Clabaugh, who is gathering research to publish. Other than passing it on, I cannot speak to it, other than that as I recall Martin came into the country as a "Glaboch", or something similar, not as Clabaugh.

"Just some evidence supporting my conviction of three distinct lineages. First - Martin Clabaugh of Pennsylvania. From research done and published by Frances M. Clabaugh Blair in 1991(copy in my possession), Martin Clabaugh was born in 1743 in Germany. He emigrated to America on the Ship Polly, arriving in Philadelphia on August 24, 1765. From my own research done and published in 1986, I wrote two chapters in my book on this Martin Clabaugh. Frances used some of my data in her book. Martin and Margaret had 14 children, all of whom were traced in my book. No connections to the Maryland Clabaughs."
