Linda A. (Clabaugh) Utz Oechsler Cooper

SHELBY: Linda A. (Clabaugh) Utz Oechsler Cooper, age 71, resident of Shelby, Ohio died Friday, April 11, 2014 in OSU Ross Medical Center, Columbus, OH.

Born May 21, 1942 in Shelby to Herbert and Melba Ruth (Longworth) Clabaugh, she was a lifelong Shelby resident.
A 1960 graduate of Shelby High School, she was a graduate of Columbus Business College receiving an associate degree.
She was formerly employed with AMF, the Shelby Daily Globe and was treasurer and general manager of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby retiring after 35 years of service.

Linda was an active member of the First Lutheran Church where she served on the church council and finance committee. She also was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Organization.

Her children and grandchildren were her life and she will be remembered by the words she would always say to them - "I love you and I am proud of you".
She was a very concerned and supportive grandmother with her grandson, Grant's, autism.

She was "addicted" to shopping and loved to frequent the Richland Mall where she was on a first name basis with the majority of the cashiers.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis "Denny" Cooper, whom she married September 15, 2007; one son, Jeffrey Utz of Park City, Utah; one daughter, Melinda Mess of Shelby, OH; two grandsons, Grant Mess, and Connor Utz; one granddaughter, Lauren Utz; three brothers, Ted (Nancy) Clabaugh of Shelby, Mark (Caroline) Clabaugh of Placida, FL and Les (Lisa) Clabaugh of Mansfield; one sister, Diane (Charles) Thurman of Mansfield, OH; nieces, nephews; step children, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Jim Utz in 1995, one daughter, Brooke Utz in 1964, twin granddaughters, Lindsay and Madison Utz, second husband, Walter Oechsler and nephew Brian Clabaugh.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the First Lutheran Church in Shelby, Ohio with interment in Oakland Cemetery.
