I am searching for any information about Johann Heinrich Claas and wife, Juliana Rahtert. Came to the US about 1849. Bought farm in Fussville, WI. He died in 1851. Four children, Heinrich, Marie Gertrude, Marie Elizabeth and Caroline. Anyone know where they came from? A Theresa Klaas/Claas was a sponsor for second child of Marie Gertrude and Wilhelm Dienberg in 1860. Where was she from? Did she live in Wisconsin? Where? Also any relatives of Juliana Rahtert in this country?

Sorry to answer so late. No, Fussville, WI, is not close to Green Co., WI. Fussville no longer exists but was incorporated into Menomonee Falls, WI, which is in Waukesha Co., WI, the next county west of Milwaukee Co., WI. But thanks for the info. It will be worth researching the background of the Claas in Janesville to see if there is any connection.
