I am looking for help on this family. JOhn Thompson and Magaret Claar. They had 9 children: George 11-1885
John W. 8-1879, aNDY 12-1881, Frank 3-1883, Martha 1888, Fred Dec. 1891, Daisy 6-1894, James 7-1875 and Watson 9-1877. They lived in Jackson, Ohio. Could someone give me info on this family. JOhn is my great grandfather and margaret my great grandmother. There son Fred is my grandfather. This is basically all I know. Do you know where this family came from and where they are buried? I was looking through a web site on Balthasar Clar and the following information was there.

Margaret Elvira Claar was born December 1856 in Jackson County, Ohio. She married John Thompson on 17, May 1873 in Jackson County, Ohio. He was born July 1850 in Ohio.

Children;

1. Daisy Thompson

2. George Thompson, born November 1874 in Jackson County, Ohio.

3. James E Thompson, born July 1875 in Jackson County, Ohio.

4. Joseph Watson Thompson, born 08, September 1877 in Jackson County, Ohio.

5. John Thompson, born August 1879 in Jackson County, Ohio.

6. Purdy Thompson, born December 1881 in Jackson County, Ohio.

7. Frank Thompson, born March 1883 in Jackson County, Ohio.

8. Martha Thompson, born March 1888 in Jackson County, Ohio.

9. Frederick Thompson, born December 1891 in Jackson County, Ohio.

There is no information on John Thompson's parents, but Margaret's parents were;

Joseph C Claar, born 24, December 1820 in Pennsylvania and died 20, July 1901 in Liberty Township, Jackson County, Ohio. He married first to Margaret Masters on 19, October 1840 in Jackson County, Ohio. She was the daughter of Ezekiel Masters and Sarah Marshall. He married second to Martha Ann Aleshire on 23, October 1851 in Jackson County, Ohio. She was born 22, October 1832 in Ohio and died 18, May 1908 in Liberty Township, Jackson County, Ohio. She was the daughter of Nelson Aleshire and Lydia Erwin.

Margaret Elvira Claar was a daughter from the second marriage. Joseph and Martha are burried at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Franklin Township, Jackson County, Ohio.

Joseph C Claar was the son of George Washington Claar.

George Washington Claar, born 12, March 1798 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania and died 07, July 1890 in Franklin Township, Jackson County, Ohio. He married Mary Mercer on 07, March 1821 in Beaver County?, Pennsylvania. She was born 25, December 1796 in Beaver County, Pennsylvania and died 26, October 1870 in Franklin County, Ohio. She was the daughter of Joseph Mercer and Comfort Nottingham.

1. Joseph C Claar, born 24, December 1820 in Pennsylvania and died 20, July 1901 in Liberty Township, Jackson County, Ohio.

2. Robert Claar, born October 1822 in Pennsylvania and died 26, September 1888 in Franklin Township, Jackson County, Ohio.
