John Cizkovsky married to Marie Rehakova were my greatgrandparents in Czechoslovakia
Their Child Helen came to America with her daughter, Jean, and married Fred J. Bartos, and lived in Cleveland. They had Mary, and William who was born in 1914.
He was a tinner and owned boarding houses.
He died around 1899 from an accident when my father was 15.Helen remarried Frank Vojtik. I am the youngest child of William and Dorothy. My eldest brother is William Fred born in 1938. Edward James was born 1943 and died in 1982. There are 3 grandchildren, mine.
The information I have is that the family lived in Prague, Czech, and were bakers. I have no contact with them. Aunt Jean is 94 now and not able to give much history. Any information is appreciated. Family history is so interesting! Contact me at email address. Thanks.

I have been researching and have corrections to the date Fred J. Bartos died. It was when my father William was 16 around 1930. Fred's tin shop was at 55th and Broadway in Cleveland.

My great great grandfather was Josef Cizkovsky/Cizek. He had a brother Jan(John) who was born January 14, 1857 and was married to Marie Rehokova.
Josef and Jan were full brothers. I have just received a research report about the family from a Czech researcher.
Josef and his wife and two of his daughters came to Minnesota in about 1903. My great grandmother Elizabeth came with her future husband, Albert Smidek in 1898. Her brother Frantisek Cizkovsky came in 1899.

My g-g-grandparents were Zdenka (Jennie) Bartos and Anton Joseph Loucek came to Cleveland in 1902 with their daughter Zdenka (Jennie). Their children were: Zdenka (Jennie) Fay, Helen Shomon, Nettie Kvet, Adele Scheiner, Joseph Loucek (my g-grandfather), Caroline Schnabel, Dorothy Manco, and Anton Loucek.

A Fred Bartos lived in the other half of Zdenka and Anton's house on the 1910 Census (5229 Doloff Rd, Cleveland). I believe his wife's name was Helen. He may have been Zdenka's brother.

Zdenka's father's name was Vaclav (James) Bartos.

If this fits with your Fred, please let me know! I would be very interested in exchanging information!

Thanks!

Oops... I meant the 1920 census, not the 1910 census.

I think your Frank Vojtik from Cleveland is probably my father's uncle. My info has 3 bothers living in Pisek, Czechoslovakia. Oldest was Joseph, born in 1875, then Frank born in 1880, and Peter born on February 6, 1884. Around 1900, Peter and Frank immigrated to USA; and, Frank settled in Cleveland and Peter in Chicago. Peter married Anna Jira (BD unknown). Three children were born in Chicago to them: Geri (Nov 7, 1910 to Feb 10, 1990), Peter (born in 1911, now deceased), and Frank W. Vojtik (my father and namesake) born Feb 2, 1915 and died Feb 2, 1983. I realize that this is not your direct ancestry; but, perhaps it is of some interest.
