I've been able to locate some of the relatives and gave the phone numbers from the living people finder on ancestry.com, from information in a old note book to my husbands sister (this is for his side of the family). She has been in contact but we have'nt had a chance to trade all the information yet. I'm hoping some of them will have the internet so we can get to work and make some more progress than I've managed on my own. Though I believe I have rekindeld my sister in-law's interest, she had done some work on a tree in the past, but we never got around to trading any information with each other. Thanks to Ancestry.com I've saved a fortune in gas and got infor mation that would have taken me years in a few months. So if any of you see this write a comment.

I believe that we may be related. My grandfather's name is Alphonso Civinski. Our last name has several forms, many of them were created in order to appear more American. Try looking up Gray, Swan, Savin and Ciwenski.

Thanks for the information about spelling, its amazing how many ways Civinski is spelled. My husbands grandmother Anna Catherine Civinski Glonek born 11 July 1899 had a brother Alphonse Born approx.1898. They were stowaways on a ship with her son Alphonse born 1918 father unknown, by me anyway. I recently acquired more information from family in New Jersey and there information has that Alphonse Civinski never married and no children are listed ether. So I don't know if your Alphonso is related or not. But it would be nice I've hit a wall on this side of the family.

I'm about 99% sure that we are related. Glonek was the last name of my grandfather's sister. I believe the her house was on Spruce about a block or two down from (I think "old" rt 1). I remember a person by the name of Al who had two daughters, these girls should be 55 - 70 today. Their house was located near a large water towel a couple of miles away. If you left by the front door of Ann's house, you would go right up to this major street, make a right and head towards Princeton. There was this very large water towel to your right. We took a right into a complex. From this point on my memory is gone. If this information hits home, Al did have two kids Joseph Earl and Mary. Joseph Earl had three sons: Clifford, William and Joseph (me). Mary had a boy (Buddy) and girl (Loris). If you now believe that we are related. I might be able to fill-in some more information. The last time that I saw any Glonek's was about 35 years ago.

You know this is to much of a coincidence they did live on Spruce St.! And had a son Al with 2 daughters that are that age! I'll have to investigate. Anna and Joseph Glonek's daughter Leona was my mother-in-law she died in 1983 and until recently the family here in Indiana had lost contact with her family in New Jersey. My sister-in-law Dianne was a vary young girl the last time she saw her mothers family. I will be seeing my father-in-law this weekend and will ask him some questions and see what I can come up with. My husband is vary excited that I may have found some more cousins on his mothers side of the family.

I was researching information for my son for school and became interested in looking into my own family, and came across this message. I lived in that house on Spruce St.! Al was my grandmother's oldest brother. Her name was Elaine. I have also lost contact with my family in New Jersey. I would love to find them again.

This is becoming very interesting. I too was doing a little research and happen to type in Civinski. If you lived in that house when Al came and visited his sister. You might remember his grandson that her brought around a few times. Maybe 6 to 10 times and his age was 10 to 17. If you do, I was that boy. I'm the only left that can make this connection. My two brothers never got involved with your side of the family. My father was the only other one that know about the relatives down in Trenton. But he's been died for 9 years.

Anna was my great grandmother, she died before I was born. Her daughter Elaine was my grandmother. Elaine also had a brother Al, is that the Al you are refering too? I don't remember much about him except that he used to fix TVs. I'm really starting to wonder how much family I have out there!

My reference was to Anne's older brother. I know of her son Al from the times that I visited the house in the 60's. Who her children were and what they did, I don't remember. My grandfather died late '69 or early '70, that is when I lost contact with the family. I believe that is sister died just before he did, but I'm not sure. He and his sister were reseaching the family tree. What I remember was told to me, I never received anything that was written down.
