My apologies for delaying a response for so long. Your grandfather was raised at 206 Proctor Ave in Elkland. My grandfather, John, (born in 1884) built the house in 1915/1916. In addition to Perry, John (and his wife Philomena) raised 7 children, plus took in boarders, as well.
I am not sure the birthdate is accurate for Perry. I remember Perry in the late 1950s, still working in the Elkland Tannery, and if my memory serves me correctly he was around my father's age. If he were born in 1879, he would have been in his mid-eighties when I knew him, and I am pretty certain that is not correct.
Part of the challenge is that 80% of the village has the surname of Forte or Civetta. As was the custom, many cousins married cousins, many given names are the same, and it is very confusing to sort it all out.
I spent time at the stato civil in Castle Vetere and there are dozens of duplications of names. By the way, Castlevetere is very difficult to reach. although only 60 miile northeast of Napoli, the drive is treacherous, with dozens of hairpin turns, narrow roads, drop offs of 200+ meters and no guard rails. I took me 4 hours to drive the sixty miles.
I would like the photograph. My grandfather was known as "Uncle John" to many people so I am confident that it is of him.
