Surnames: Ciuffo Cuiffo Ewald Burchianti
Looking for the parents of Angelo Ciuffo and Antonia. They migrated to the US in 1888 with their daughter Maria Giuseppa Oct 1887. They may be from the region of Tuscany since they departed from Naples, Italy.

Any Italian ancestors have record of the above?

Also searching for Lillian Ewald whose mother is Katherine (unknown maiden name) who ended up marrying a Fitzsimmons. Lillian is the daughter of Katherine's 2nd marriage to an Unknown EWALD. Would like her father's name and line along with Katherines. LILLIAN EWALD MARRIED DOMINICK CIUFFO, SON OF THE ABOVE COUPLE.

If you have more information no matter how small regarding the above, please...please do share with me. Thank you in advance.

To the best of my knowledge I don't know of an Angelo Ciuffo my great granfather came from a town in Italy called Minturno. His name was Domenico and he settled in Bridgeport Connecticut. From what we know of him her passed away at a very young age in Bridgeport and was buried there leaving 3 boys a girl and his wife behind. One of the boys was my granfather and my father is also Domenick Ciuffo. From what we know he came to the U.S. with either 2 or 3 brothers and they all settled in the
Bridgeport area. Because he died so young and because great granma moved to Stamford CT after he died we lost track of all relatives in the Bridgeport area.

www.dna.ancestry.com is now testing for only $79. I took advantage and found out that even though the family lived and migrated from Italy, we are not Italians. If you get tested, let me know and if we match, will share what I have on the family.

The Ciuffo family is found in three areas: NJ, NY, & Connecticut. I wonder if we are all related.

Can you share what you have on this family? I have been at a dead end regarding this line. What I have is Philip & Josephine La Iure Ciuffo as parents for Dominic -- have nothing else regarding Antonia's family nor the Ciuffo line. Have other questions regarding their migration to Italy & when if you have family stories regarding that too.

Thank you.

Opps, I meant Angelo's parents were Philip & Josephine, not Dominic's parents.

Thank you for sharing, every little bit helps.

I am sure you already know --but in case not...Catherine (Caterina) Weeks was Lillian's step-mother. Either Otto knew he was dying and wanted his girls taken care of or he grew sicker after they married. He died 3 days later after his marriage to Weeks (Mrs. Brady). Lillian's mother died before 1900. I have yet to find her full name and where she is buried. All I have is she was born (from memory) abt 1872 and all I have is Tonnay. Otto also had a son, John, his first born. However, he must have died before 1900 also as I am unable to find him in any other census.

One day when I ever get to visit New York, I plan to visit Otto Adolph Ewald's grave at Lutheran All Faiths Cemetery in Middle Village, Queens, NY to see if Tonnay is buried next to him or at the same cemetery.

Thanks again for sharing.
