I cannot believe how many Ciuffa's there are. I was under the impression that the name wasn't so common and that most likely all are of some relation- perhaps I am wrong- but I'm interested. I live in St. Louis, MO, USA- my grandfather is Amerigo Anthony Ciuffa and grandmother Renata Alma Pozzi- my great grandparents I was priveleged to meet and love- Rinaldo Ciuffa imigrated to US sometime in the early part of the century-- I do know that he was born in 1888-- I also know that I have many relatives (my grandfathers cousins) living still in Italy-- If this offers any info- I am interested to know any relation to my sister and I- Please let me know! Thanks

I am researching my ancestors back to Cori, Italy, a community in the province of Latina, near Rome. My great great grandmother, was Francesca Ciuffa, her mother was known as "Teresina la Gitana" or Little Teresa the Gypsy (no last name given). Francesca married Gaetano Nasini, in Cori, Italy and they had many children - some of which, like my great grandmother, Teresa Nasini, came to America in the early 1900s. I don't know if your Ciuffa family is related to mine - but if you have any information to share - who knows? I am finding lots of family surnames that all tie in to each other at some point. Do you know your family's province in Italy - this is the most important thing. If you have not done so, try the website for Ellis Island. You can research records on immigrants and usually, the records list other family members, surnames and even Italian provinces from which they came. Good way to research.
