Benedetto family from Italy
I'm not sure I can be of much help, but I will tell you what I know. My mother was the baby Benedetto (Stella)of 7 children. Her parents came here from Italy-Nicholas and Carmella (DeMatteo) Benedetto. Children were: Seymour, John, Phyllis, Mary, Flora, Theresa and Stella. They came to live on French Hill in Marlborough, MA. I know that all the relatives were coal miners in PA. All of these people have passed away except for Mary (nursing home 90 yrs. old) and Phyllis (about 93 now). Nick and Carmella came here from Italy, probably around 1915. Hope this helps you somewhat. We have lots of cousins here in Marlborough Pennsylvania. Carol

Re: Benedetto and Catherine Ciuffa
Hello, This e-mail thing is funny! I have been looking on the internet and put in "ciuffa" for a laugh really! When i saw your mesage i was really shocked as my family also origionated from Cori , Italy. My father is Luigi Ciuffa, and his mother was Rosa, And father was Thomasino. My dad moved here to England with his parents when he was 2 years old... We visited Cori when we were kids, a number of times and remember relatives from the old Cori such as; Therasa, Mairo, Katerina. I dont know if i have spelled the names correctly. Therasa and Mairo are brother and sister, aged approximately in their 50's. Their parents are, Angelina (mum) and Pacifico (dad) They also have a brother called Fabritzio and a sister, Piere and another sister Lilia. Louie-gino died a few years ago and was the brother of Pacifico. Thats about all i can remember although my mum has said that she remembers my grandfather (thomasino) having lots of brothers and sisters, and one of his sisters, Olivia, went to america to re-unite with family many years ago. Maybe sommeone you know can relate to some of this. If there is anything else i can do to help, please let me know, i would love to be updated with anything else you've found out. Yours, Darren. Hi all,
Well I found it really amazing that so many people are called Ciuffa. In France there is only my family I believe. We are from the province of Montecompatri, in Italy. My Dad's mother was called Ada and he was called after her.
Is anybody else from the same area? Nelly Ciuffa
