My grandpa Guy Lloyd Cisco always told us kids this & so did my aunt Gladys. I was wanting a reaction from this board & it worked. It was all for fun. Grandpa's granddad William Cisco (son of Nathaniel Cisco ) traveled the Oregon trail in 1859 & settled in Washington & Idaho. Nathaniel was born in New Jersey in 1794, had his kids in Ohio & raised them Iowa

I am not sure that I understand the "damn" business, but I am a Cisco and my grgrandfather was Jay Guy Cisco. He died in Nashville, Tn so it can't be the same Guy. Thought I would reply anyway. Bob Cisco

Hi Bob, I did your line & your Cisco's hail from Cuba before New Oleans. My Nathaniel was born in 1794 in New Jersey. When he moved to Ohio around other Cisco's ( could have been kin) their line showed German ancestry. My research on the Cisco name tells me it comes from Franciscus & the 1st writing of it was found in a church in France in the 13th century. Francisco became the Latin form & it is an old old name & spread out all over Europe. Wynona
