My grandfather, Felix Ciociola, was born in Montella, Italy and came to the U.S. in 1900. He lived the remainder of his life in Norristown, PA. He had a cousin named Vitale Ciociola who lived in Wilmington. Any relationship to either Vitale or my grandfather that you know of? Vitale had a son named Frank who I believe still lives in Wilmington.

I don't believe my grandfather came from such a large family. He had one brother and one sister that I know of but I'm sure if he was one of 21 we would have known that! I don't know if Ciociola is a common name in Italy. Years ago my Mother had a letter from a young woman who was doing research in college on the name but I don't believe anyone in my family followed up on it. As you find out details, let me know and I'll try to cross reference with my family. Good luck!

Will do and if you will do the same thanks Niels

Hi Joanne, My cousin recently found the same info on your grandfather and wondered if we are related. My grandfather was Felix (Felice in Italian) and he was from Montella. He came to the U.S. in 1900 and settled in Norristown, PA which is outside of Philadelphia. I believe his parents were Angelo and Agnes. He had one brother, Pasquale, who also came to the U.S. but we don't know much else about the family. My grandfather had Ciociola relatives in Delaware and the elder relation there was Vitale Ciociola. If your aunt can provide any information, we would love to know about it. Unfortunately, all of our primary sources are now deceased. Good luck in your search!
