Hi My father was John Cina -- his father (my grandfather) was George Cina who emigrated to PA around 1908 from Slovakia --- ( than Montana - than Minnesota) -- .
I am in contact with my Slovakia Relatives.

My Grandfather George had a brother whose name was changed when he came into the country to SENA - .......

Now I wonder how and when CINA's got to Slovakia ???

This is very interesting. Are your Cina ancestors Italian?

No I don't think so ------ the history in Slovakia goes back away ------- but where did they orginate from -------- Looking at a map it would probably been fairly easy to off traveled from Italy to Slovakia.
I saw some grave stones from 1800's with Cina on them when visiting my relativies in Slovakia.
I have seen some interesting DNA studies tracking the migration of people.
Yes it is neat.
John Cina in MN.

Yes they are. We know the city & village they are from in Sicily, Italy. They immigrated to PA (through NY I guess) sometime during the 1900's about the time yours did. I am guessing that my Cina ansestors changed their surname spelling at some point, however I have yet to locate the original spelling.
