Surnames: de Cima, de León
My great grandfather was Juan de Cima he lived around 1860 to 1870 in San Fco CA USA, he supoused to borned in Spain 1817, married to Virginia de León daughter of Francois de León & Gertrudis, My great grandmother Virginia also married to a violinist last name Durstain and they went to live to somewhere Europe. I would like to Know if he or she can be connected to older ancestor in spain or Europe

My mother's family is named CIMA and they have been living inthe northwest part of Tuscany for hundreds of years. However, I think they may have migrated from Spain. Was your family originally from Spain, and if so where?

Yes my family came from Oviedo Asturias Spain and emigrated to San Francisco Ca. in the beginning of the 1800s. I posted a family Tree of my family at internet, My great great Grandfather is Juan de Cima. Thanks

I am trying to find their geneoloby before there got to Italy. The only record I found was a reference to a CHEMAH that was found in records of the Inquisition in Toledo, and also records of the name (Ceman0 in snynogogues in Asturias. Is it possible that there is a conncection and that one of our 5 million ancestors then living was Jewishand converted? Please let me know what you think. It 's may be norhing, but that sort of bothers me.

My great great grandfather Juan de Cima born in Spain somewhere at Oviedo Asturias 1817-1904, he migrated to the USA and then he moved to Mazatlan Sinaloa Mexico where myself and my whole family lives.
