Classification: Query
Surnames: Cima, Donati, Simonetti, Dalla Gassa, Girardi
My great great grandfather was Pellegrino Cima. He and his wife (Stella Donati) had seven sons: Archemedi, Pietro, Nocencio, Edwardo, and Enrico and two that I do not have names for. Enrico was the only one that stayed in Italy. My great grandfather Pietro was born on 4 Nov 1871. He married Dusola Simonetti (b 17 July 1872). They immigrated to Vancouver, British Columbia Canada from Ponto a Moriano, Lucca, Toscana, Italy. They had 12 children: Cesarina, Teresa, Bert, Guido, Lina, Margaret, Erica, Alfred, Cecil, Maria, Emma and Olga. Cesarina and Teresa were born in Italy and the rest were born in Vancouver. I have additional information if you wish to correspond. Please contact me at tinpet@telus.net

The Cima family name is relatively rare in Italy. It is found in Tuscany(Lucca), La Spezia (Liguria), Genoa, Milan and especially in the Piedmont region of Italy (Turin). My grandfather came from LaSpezia. My mother has died, and I am trying to research civic records to trace his ancestry.

My great grandfather (Armando Cima) was from Pontremoli, Italy (not sure when he came to the States). I'll have to get all the info from my mother, but he had two sons - Armando and Pietro and at least 1 daughter - Gilda (I think there's more, but I'll have to check). Armando had 12 children - Edmondo (Mondo), Michael, Gulio, Mario, Armando II, Jerome (Jerry), Leonardo (John), Gino, Julia, Maria, Carmen and Gina.
