Re: Michael and Rose Ciliberti > USA 1880s
Hi from USA, I am a ciliberti by marriage. Our family of Ciliberti's are from New Jersey and came from Italy around 1880. I am researching that side of the family now and do not have a lot of information. I know the originating family to the USA from Italy was Michael and Rose Ciliberti we believe from Calabria, Italy but I am not completely sure. Nichole Ciliberti

Re: Michael and Rose Ciliberti > USA 1880s
My father Anthony was born in Philadelphia, Pa. but my grandfather Vincenzo Ciliberti came to the US in the 1890's on a ship from Naples and listed his home town as San Lorenzo (Calabria). My grandfather had four (4) sons, Anthony, Francis, Gaetano, Vincenzo (James)..It is believed that they were named after his brothers.Any information please contact me Thanks V.

Re: Michael and Rose Ciliberti > USA 1880s
Hello! Our Ciliberti relatives came from Calabria around 1880-1882. I don't know what ship or port they came through. My husband's grandfather gave us what little information we have. He is 96 now and was the baby of the family. His father was Michael Ciliberti and is the first generation here in the USA. They first went to Philadelphia and had one child then moved to Hammonton, NJ. I will list the children: Joseph, Angelina, Catherina, Mamie, Nicholas, Jenny Rose, Antonio "Anthony", Charles, Amilia Mildred, Alphonso Joseph (my husband's grandfather). I don't know a lot of each of them. Maybe Michael and your Anthony were brothers?? Do you know your Anthony's father's name? Michael was born 9-27-1856 and died 1956. I have his death certificate and have found them in the census reports except for the 1930 census, they are not listed for some reason. you can email me directly or respond to this message and maybe we can figure out if we are talking about the same families.
