I have hit the wall. I have traced my name back only as far as my grandfather Alessandro who died in WW II. He married my grandmother Giuseppina Caprarello andthey lived in the melfi area of Italy. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I would share any information I have on the U.S. side of my family.

The correct spelling of your grandmother Giuseppina's last name is Caporarello. It's missing an 'o'.

The municipal office in Castroreale in the province of Messina, Italy misspelled my grandfather's name on his birth certificate when he was born. My grandfather had the correct spelling noted on his certificate at the municipal office but didn't have it corrected. They spelled my grandfather's name as Capolarello, as you can see with an ' l ' instead of an ' r '.

On the birth certificate for my great-grandfather it is spelled correctly, Caporarello.

I would be interested in as much as you know about your Caprarello family. You can contact me at JoeCapolarello@hotmail.com.

Thanks,
Joe

Hey Paul,

Just wondering if we could possibly be related. My grandparents are Norma Africani & Michael Cignarale. They were born in Italy (Abruzzi (sp) and Florence), but moved to Baltimore, MD in the 1960's.
