I am searching for any information regarding the surnames Cifranick,Cifranic,Zajac,Rusnak, and Sabol. My ancestors lived in western PENNA. around Pittsburgh and Erie. My grandfather was Peter Paul Cifranick and he married Leona Zajac. Her parents were John Zajac (died 1945) and Anna Rusnak (died 1939). Peter's parents were Peter P.Cifranic (died 1904) and Anna Sabol (died 1945). Peter's siblings included John, Andrew, Michael, Anna, and Mary. Leona's siblings included Ella, Katherine, John, Jay, and Mary. Any information would be helpful. I have not yet located what part of Austria-Hungary they originated from...my father believes John Zajac and Anna Rusnak were from Lintz, Austria. Thanks.

My father's name was Henry Francis Zajac. He was from Swickley (sp?) Penn., just outside Pittsburg. His father's name was Chester Zajac who had a sister Jean, and I believe Leona. Chester also had another son, Edward Zajac. Please contact me as I would like to know more about my father's family.

I don't believe my grandmother Leona Zajac to be the sister of Chester...her siblings' names were John and Joe Zajac and Katherine Kokladis and Anne Culley. Sorry, wish I could be of more help.

Surnames: Cifranic
That's coincidental, as a Peter Cifranic was born that year (1904) - the son of George Cifranic and Susan Kysel.

I have a relative Chester Zajac married to Cecilia with two sons Edward and Henry in PA. Do you have any dates that we could match up?

Hi Rebecca,
How far back can you trace Johnstons in the Pittsburgh area? My white 3x great uncle, Frederick Deemer , born late 1700's, was married to a Rebecca Johnston, also born late 1700's.
They would have been our enemies during that time period. We are all one family now.

Henry died in Phoenix, AZ in 1983. Eddie died a few years before that. He lived in Texas at one time.

Hi there, I was reading the message board. I have just started on ancestry.com . Chester Zajac was also my grandfather. I am the only daughter of Edward Zajac. My name is Dianne. If you are Henry's daughter, then I must of met you the one time we went to Arizona to visit. Hopefully we can update any info we have. My email is
