My Cifaldi's are from the same Province in Italy. I have listed what I know of them. I am descended through Angelo(ggrandfather). I believe all the Cifaldi's in that area of Italy to be related. I believe Angelo and his brother, Adolf, immigrated to the US through Argentina. My grandfather, Nick, was born in Bellaire, Ohio, in 1904.

Town: Campolattaro
Province: Benevento
Region: Campania
Country: Italy

Nick Cifaldi (Italy)
married Filomena DiNiso (Italy)
Children:
Angelo (b. June 3, 1872 [Italy] - d. Jan. 6,1939)
Adolf - came to U.S. with Angelo did not like it and returned to Argentina.

ANGELO CIFALDI (b. June 3, 1872 [Benevento, Campolattaro, Italy] - d. Jan. 6,1939)
married Maria Nardone (b.Aug.15, 1873 [Italy] - d. Aug. 28,1936)

Updated info from my last post---My husband's Mother was from Benevento (maiden name was DePierro) My husband's Father (John Cifaldi) parents were from Folgia, Italy. He has 4 other brothers, Nicholas, Augustine, Vincent, Angelo. All reside in Philadelphia, Pa. Any connections out there will be greatly appreciated

I just noticed that I must have gotten in a real hurry to reply to you earlier and typed Campalattaro, Benvenuto (welcome)instead of Benevento (the province in Italy). I hate it when I really show my ignorance!!!
Anyway, I thought I'd add a couple of other family names such as Iadanza, Nardone, and DiNiso. Do any of these names ring a bell?
It sounds like your mother-in-law was from the same province, any chance the same town?
Stay in touch and let me know what developes in your research of the Cifaldi's. This has proven to be a difficult name to research. A few people looking, but not much info available.

I am interested in your family from Campolattaro. My family tradition says that our Cifaldi's immigrated to the USA through Argentina, but I have never been able to verify this. I do not have a record of Giacomo Cifaldi, although I have traced my line in Campolattaro back to the early 1600's and realize that they were all probably related in that small town of about 1000 population. Maybe we can put a few more pieces to this puzzle in place.
Thanks,
Todd

ps My spanish skills are very poor therefore I must rely on the internet translations services and help from friends. I hope this does not present a barrier that cannot be overcome.

Estimado Todd
Saludos
SERGIO
