Caroline and her brother and sister might have been Ciechanowski or may be KASPRIK or KASPAREK.
Family oral history is that both Caroline and Sophie were heard to remark during WWII that they should contact the Polish Ambassador and see how he was related. By the time that Caroline and Sophie emigrated to the U.S. they were both married:
Caroline IWANICKI, bd 2 May 1881, bp Poland
Sophie DEMKOWICZ, bd 1884
Their brother Vincent is found in the 1910 Federal Census living with Sophie and her husband Philip in Scranton, PA. His last name is shown as Kaspochik. However, last surviving son of Caroline says that Kasprik "sounds right".
Both Caroline and Sophie's husbands were from the village of Dobre, a Ukrainian village near the Sanok River in Poland. However, U.S. Census show Caroline and Sophie as Polish but their husbands as Ruthenian.
Thanks for any assistance in pinning down Caroline, et. al. last name.
