Hi, I am trying to find info on my grandparents. My grandfater Vincent Cicala was married to Mary Sorrentino. I have his parents as Thomas and Pauline Cicala. My grandfather was in his 70's probably when i was born in 1955. Any information on the family would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm not exactly sure maybe naples. My grandfather lived in Brooklyn, NY I know the earliest date for sure was 1911 because of an uncle born there in Brooklyn. My father was born 1930. I remember he spoke very little english. But then I was only five or six when I last saw him. that was over 40 years ago. In a photo of him holding me at age 8 months he looks about 65. I know he was married to a Sorrentino.

Hi Pat, I still don't have very much info to go on. I ordered the 1920 census for my grandfather. Vincent lived on Thompson St. in NY city. The census says the immigrated to US 1912. Doesn't tell me what part of Italy. It did tell me he was a barber. I also found on the same street a Julius Cicala but don't know if they were related. I did get a yr. of naturalization off the census. So I'll try to order that info. It took almost two months to get the census here. Thanks for your help. Viv

Hi, I am taking my first trip to Italy, leaving today. For some reason while on the computer I decided to search Cicala. I am very curious about possible family in Italy. The message I am replying to mentioned Vincent Cicala. I was born in N.Y., my grandfather's name was Vincent (Vincenzo) and he was a barber. My father's name was Thomas. His brothers were Al and Louis, his sister Vivian. I believe there are relatives in southern Italy. I also have a cousin named Vivian. Could that be Vivian Witt? I am leaving today for Italy and won't be back for 2 weeks. If I get a response to this, I will answer when I return. Rosalie Cicala Spingola

Hi, If your name is Vivian and your father's name was Louis, mother Marie, you are my cousin. You probably don't remember me, but I'm your father's brother Tom's daughter. I am on my way to Italy today and won't return for 12 days. If you respond to this, I will answer after I return home. Rosalie Cicala Spingola
