We've just this week discovered that we have Cibulka ties to our family line. I just posted this message on another board but wanted to post it here too.
After working diligently for a year to find any information about our George Pavlik immigrant and his wife, Anna Duratny BEFORE they immigrated and getting no where, we hired a Slovakian researcher.
The main reason we had no luck was we had so many variations on where these immigrants were born. Some documents we had had his place of birth as Czechoslovakia, some had Austria-Hungary and some had Slovakland. I think our immigrant was as confused about what was going on back in his homeland as the family he left behind.
Anyway, within a matter of DAYS, our researcher had their places of birth, their siblings , parents and grandparents name, birthdates and places of birth and marriage. I would very highly recommend him and would be happy to pass along more information to anyone privately if anyone is interested in his services.
In the meantime, I wanted to pass on the information he learned that might help someone else in their research or maybe even help us find more relatives.
The spelling of the names are as they were written in the church parish records. (My own comments are in parenthesis.)
(Juraj Pavlik (I) was married to Katarina Martikan and they had the following children (at least these two if not more):
