Over Thanksgiving I found out a little more about the Cibulka line. I found out that my great grandparents Albert Cibulka and Mary Prohaska came to NY from Prague, Czech Republic and then moved to Cicero IL (Cook County). My grandfather, John Cibulka had three brothers; Frank, James, and Joseph. My grandfather married Audry Brenner and had four kids; John, Mark, Bruce, and Laura. I am a third generation Cibulka that was born in the states.

Hi Robin: I believe that we are related. My Great Grandfather (Vakburk Suchomel) had a Daughter(Mary Suchomel)who married John Cibulka on 23 Apr 1896 in Chicago, Illinois. John was Albert's brother. Albert Cibulka's fatherand mother were Josef and Anna (Velisek)Cibulka born in Neurazy, Plzen, Czechoslovakia. Josef had 6 children (John, Jacob, Marie, Joseph, Frank and Albert). If you would like more information on the Cibulka line, please contact me at Suchomel@cox.net.

Hey Kristin: My name is Christine and I am researching the Cibulka line. My grandfather is Valentine Cibula (Czibulka), arrived in Pennsylvania from Bremen, Germany about 1911. I have the first generation born in the US for Valentine and Kristina. There appear to be many Cibulkas so need additional information. Tell me more. Christine

Unfortunately my Cibulka line came from Germany to Wisconsin, not Pennsylvania. There are more Cibulkas that I thought that came to the US. I an a 4th Generation Cibulka originally from Washington State, now living in New Jersey.

I am trying to find my great grandmother from Poland, either from Bromberg, Posnan or Mietschisko. Her name was Anna Zibulska or Cibulska. She was born March or May 19, 1853 and her parents were Franz and Christina. I am told that there is no Z in Polish and it should really be C. Prussia was held by the Germans in 1853 I think. Does anyone have any information on my family? Thanks for any help.

I know this is 4 years later but for what it is worth my step grandfather was Frank Cibulka and he lived in Downers Grove, IL. He was married to my grandmother Katherine Kostovich and they married in 1952. Frank passed in 1982.

Franz (Frank) Cibulski died in Prussia and never came to the U.S. I don't know if my great grandmother had a brother Frank. It is very difficult to find information on her. Someone has a youtube video about Bromberg and they said that it was indeed Poland.
