Surnames: Ciaccio Randazzo Salvato Barberino Mandalbano Prizzi
Hello,

I've just started researching my family history, and found this board. I don't know if I'm distantly related to anyone here, so I'll post what I know and maybe we can help each other.

My great-great grandmother was Frances Randazzo Ciaccio. She came from Santa Margherita di Belice to Brooklyn, NY some time around 1899 with her daughters Natala Ciaccio Prizzi (my great grandmother), Marianna (Marion) Ciaccio Salvato, and Antonina (Lena) Ciaccio Barberino. She had a son named Pietro (Peter) who remained in Italy as far as we know. Her husband, George Ciaccio, had left the country earlier, possibly as a soldier, but had not been heard from again. George's parents were Natala Mandalbano and Peter Ciaccio.

Frances and Natala stayed in Brooklyn, NY for about 10-15 years and then moved to CT. I have dates and additional information to share if it would be helpful to anyone.

Best, Debby

Hi. My grandfather Leonard Ciaccio was from the same town and came over at the same time. He lived in Brooklyn, married my grandmother Rose. His first wife passed soon after marriage. They had three boys, Charles my dad, Joe and Leonard.

We must have a connection.

Hello,

I'm sorry I did not reply sooner; I haven't been working on my family tree in a few years. My grandfather is Peter, who was George's youngest brother. I do know of George, and found his gravestone at St. Patrick's a while back.

If you are still there and would like to talk more, please let me know.

Best, Debby

Hello all! Marianna Ciaccio Salvato was my Great Grandmother. I only really began researching my family tree a couple of weeks ago. So I am glad I found this thread.

Hi Debby...as far as my family tells the story, George (Giorgio) Ciaccio went to Argentina for work, and he was set to return and then was never heard from. Frances was my father's Great Grandmother and lived with them for a time in Massachusetts (probably Lynn, as that was where my father lived for most of his childhood). He says they called her "Little Grandma) and that he used to lock her in the chicken coop! (He was a mischevious little boy!).
