Adrian,
I had a great grandfather named James Chynoweth. I do not know if this is the same time frame, it could be. Did he go to Saskatchewan? This James was one of the first founders/settlers in Coleville, SK. He built the first house and owned/ran the hardware store. I am slowly trying to piece it together with very little info. But if this sounds like the James you speak of please let me know and I will ask my grandmother if she remembers. She isn't doing very well anymore.
Thanks
Jillane

Do you still - 2 years later - need info on John Chynoweth born 1750 in St Agnes? His youngest son Richard was my great great great grandfather.

Yes 2 years on I'm still looking. Well really its my Dad (who retired a couple of years ago) who actually started the looking. He came across an elderly lady (distant relative) in Folkestone who gave him a tree that went back to John Chynoweth. According to the tree your parents were Herbert Chynoweth and Elsie Wood? Dad (Paul) was the son of Leslie (a cousin of Herbert). Leslie being a son of James, brother of Richard your Grandad - I think?

I'm sure my Dad would be interested in any information or family history as he is new to the business of tracing the family tree and is having problems in finding info on his Grandad James.

It would be good to hear from you,

We have established the following tentative links:
Name: John Chynoweth
Born: c1719 of St Mary's Truro,
Spouse: Jane
Children: Thomas, christened 23 June 1745
John, christened 25th.January 1747, of St Agnes

This John married an Elizabeth and they are probably the parents of Richard and others.
