Looking for info on my gr-gr-gr-gr-gr-grandmother, Alice Chubbuck, b. ca 1781 in MA, m. Thomas Atherton, b. 12/23/1783 in Shutesbury, Franklin, MA.; parents of my line from Rodolphus Atherton. I have searched through the Hingham and Wareham lines and have not found her. Does anyone know about her? Thanks. Ray Curtis

Hello. My name is Lisa Atherton Whitaker. I think I know where Alice, Thomas, and Rodolphus are buried. They are my ancestors too. My father was Frederick Atherton whose father was Ernest Atherton whose father was Fred Atherton whose father was Rodolphus.

Rodolphus is buried in Groveton (Northumberland), NH with his wife Mary Rich Atherton (I believe she was his second wife - do you know who his first wife was?) Thomas and Alice are buried in Columbia, NH. Mary was much younger than Rodolphus and cannot be the mother of Fred.

Three children, who died at the age of 8 or younger, are mentioned on the gravestone of Mary and Rodolphus, but the actual gravestones of the children are with Thomas and Alice.

I've attached pictures of the gravestones of Alice, Thomas and Rodolphus, but the gravestones of Alice and Thomas were taken wet so they didn't come out well.

Lisa, Your Fred was the son of Erastus S. Atherton, who was the son of Rodolphus Atherton. Fred was born in 1872; Erastus was born in 1835/36; Rodolphus was born in 1806. If he was Fred's father, he would have been in his early 70's. Ray

I'm sorry. When I was typing it out I forgot to include Erastus.

I also know where Erastus and his wife, Sophronia Wheeler Atherton, are buried.

Do you know who Rodolphus' first wife was? Do you know beyond Thomas and Alice Chubbuck Atherton?

Erastus is my direct descendant g-g-grandfather (or G_G_G_G_) from my Grandmother, Mary Edith Atherton. I was just at their graves the other day while visiting home. (Stratford Center Cemetery), where most of my ancesters are buried. Ray

Hi Alice,

I saw the pictures of Erastus Atherton's grave. I believe I am also the direct descendant of he and Sophrina Wheeler.

My paternal grandfather is Everett Charles Atherton Sr. His father was George E. Atherton and I believe that his father was Erastus Atherton.

What cemetary are Erastus and Sophrina buried in?

I am a descendent of Lucy A Atherton (wife of Isaac Hull Ayres). Her death certificate states her parents were Thomas Atherton and Alice Chubbrick. I've read elsewhere she was born in NH in 1820. Does anyone have info on Lucy? Thank you!!
