I have no idea if Asahel and Jesse are brothers. According to the 1900 CA Census, Jesse was born June 1836 in Pennsylvania (no idea what county). His death certificate lists his birthplace as Penn and most everything else is "unknown". The cemetery claims to have no records on his burial (I'm still working on that one). I do know that Jesse had at least one brother named Josiah (born Sept 1841, Penn). I have not been able to track down any death or parental info on Josiah either. That, unfortunately, is all I have. I'm hoping to spend more time with pre 1870 and post 1900 censuses in the near future. If I find anything that might tie in, I'll be glad to let you know.
