Re: CHOATE/OKLAHOMA/TEXAS
I also have a Richard W. Choate in my family. Richard was my gr gr gr granddad. I have his birth year as 1792 or 1797? And he was married to Martha Washington McMackin. His children were John Kyle, Aaron Crockett, Thomas Jefferson, Mary Francis, Casey Elizabeth, Nancy Emily, Frances Marion (my branch), William N., Hugh D., Sarah L., and Rosannah P. If any of these names sound familiar, let me know.

Re: CHOATE/OKLAHOMA/TEXAS
Charli, I tried to send you a direct e-mail, but it bounced. I, too, have Richard W. Choate in my data base of over 2300 Choates and relations. I have them back to 1530 AD. I would like to exchange gedcoms with you to share information. This is also true for Marilyn and other Choates in Christopher I's descent. Hoping to hear from you soon. Joyce < joyceab@acninc.net>

Re: CHOATE/OKLAHOMA/TEXAS
Hi...Doing search on AARON T. CHOATE decendent of Christopher Choate. Aaron Choate is my great grandfather. Any info you may have that relates to him would be greatly appreciated. Would also like any info on MARGARET ELISABETH "Lizzy" CHOATE, sister to Aaron. I know she married Jefferson Davis "J.D." Smith and had lived in Ft.Worth Texas in the early 1900's. I just located a cousin yesterday who is a decendent of Lizzy and we would both like any info you may have as to the Smith history. Look forward to hearing from you...Thank you & HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Re: CHOATE/OKLAHOMA/TEXAS
Hi, Those CHOATE names have no meaning to me. My Great-Grandfather was RICHARD W. CHOATE, Sheriff of Cass County, Texas in 1889. His daughter was my Grandmother MATTIE CHOATE (DUNN) who married into the prominent DUNN family from Fayetteville, Arkansas. Her brother was WILLIS CHOATE of Marietta, Oklahoma. Looking for her other sisters and brother. Don't think there is any link or those names not familiar to me. Thanks, Marilyn Dunn Carothers

Re: CHOATE/OKLAHOMA/TEXAS
Charli, Did I not send you a reply? Don't know if we have the same RICHARD W. CHOATE, my GreatGrandfather, Sheriff of Cass County, Texas in 1889. His daughter, my Grandmother was MATTIE CHOATE (DUNN) who married WILLIAM FORBES DUNN 1 of the prominent DUNN family of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Her brother was WILLIS CHOATE of Marietta, Oklahoma. Believe other children, born in Cass County, Texas. Believe RICHARD W. CHOATE married 2 times. Any names sound familiar? If so let me know. Thanks, Marilyn Dunn Carothers

Re: CHOATE/OKLAHOMA/TEXAS
Thank you for your reply and I agree, I don't think there is any connection. My great grandfather was Aaron Thomas Choate; his father, David Oliver "Ollie", then up the line ...(David Bartlett Choate, David Choat, Christopher Choate, who was born prox. 1750 in Bedford, VA.). I don't recall seeing any Dunn surname references in our gen/list. We have a lot of family from TN, OK, TX & Mississippi. Several were officers in the Confederate Army, or served in lesser capacities. I used the Surname Search "Choate" and the list is tremendous...The msg boards work. In one day I got a reply and it turned out to be a cousin whose mother was my great-GF's sister ! .... you might find the ones you're looking for....Good Luck and happy hunting.
