Hi, I am trying to do research on my Paternal Grandfather Franciszek Chmiel who would have arrived in 1912. He entered at Philadelphia not Ellis Island I believe and came from Poland which was part of the Austo-Hungarian Empire which is noted on his passport. His family came from Southeatern Poland and many members still reside in that part of Poland. He was a coal miners assistant and died in a cave in around 1935. He was married to Antonina Szelazek and resided in several coal mining areas of Pennsylvania, especially the Scranton area. Any information would be appreciated Bob

I have a great grandmother Anna; brother Michael that we believe was married in Olyphant, PA (coal mining area of North Eastern, PA) in early 1900's. Anna married Anthony Oleniacz.
Have you you run across any of these names in your research?
Tom

Hi,
There are a few Chmiel families in the Olyphant area but I have not done any research on them.

my name is Ivona Chmiel I married to Adrian Chmiel for four years... His parents are here ,but the rest of them are in Poland. The small city they come from is MOLOZOW. POLAND. It is in the south eastern part of Poland. But some do live in the larger city LUBLIN.

Oh well, it was worth a try. My Father's name is also Stanley and his mother was Antonina Szelazek who married Franciszek Chmiel. Funny that both had sons named Stanley

My grandmothers parents are Anna and Anthony. She is Mary oleniacz Gardoski. I have a picture of her mother (I think) with some others but my Grandma couldn't identify the people in the picture. Do you know if Anna or Anthony had siblings?
