Looking for the person who entered the Family Tree information on the family of Jan Chmela who immigrated from the Empire of Austria/Bohemia in 1871/1872. I have edited some of that information with my own branch of the family tree and would like to connect with other branches. Their village was Kutna Hora (in Bohemian) or Kuttenberg (in German).

My great grandmother was Josephine Ann Chmela, married to Frank (Frantisek) Hrbek (Herbek). If you are connected here, please reply.

My wife can trace her family back to Jan Chmeliar supposedly born in Austria. He had a son named Andre Chmeliar born about 1852 in Austria. This Andre married a Maria and had four children Andrew, Rozalia, Maria, Jan.

Are talking about the same Jan Chemlar.

Unfortunately, I don't think our lines connect, unless the connection goes back a generation before my Chmela line. My Jan Chmela (b. 1838) married Anna Makarius (b. abt 1843) and immigrated to the US in 1871-1872 with their two children, Josef and Jan. They then had two more children, Josepha (Josephine) and Vaclav (William) in NY. However, the Chmela's did emigrate from Bohemia which was under Austrian control at the time. The town name was Kutna Hora (in Bohemian) or Kuttenberg (in German).

The Jan Chmela from my line was born in November 1838 in the Empire of Austira, Bohemia. He died in New York City in 1901. His spouse was Anna Makarius who was born about 1843 and died 1895 also in New York City. They immigrated from the town of Kuttenberg (in the German language) or Kutna Hora (in the Bohemian language) about 1871/1872. They had the following 4 surviving children: Josef (Joseph) b. 1868, Jan (John) b. 1871, Josefa Anna (Josephine Ann) b. 1874 and Vaclav (William) b. 1879.

My Jan Chmela would only have been 14 at the time of birth of your Andre Chmeliar in 1852, so I don't think its a direct match to my line.
