Re: Chmela,Michael Stephen, Stanley`s Son
Do you happen to know if Stanley's father's name was William Chmela born in 1907 and, further, that his father's name was also William Chmela born in 1879 in NYC? I am the great granddaughter of the 1879 William's older sister, Josepha (known to us as Josephine) Chmela who married Frantisek (known to us as Frank) Hrbek. Would love to know if our lines cross.

Re: Chmela,Michael Stephen, Stanley`s Son
Should you find out that William (could possibly be Vaclav in Bohemian) Chmela was your great or great-great grandfather or thereabouts, then I could share with you pictures of his family who immigrated here in about 1870. This William owned a chicken farm in NY (I think Westchester area) when he was younger and then moved to PA.

Re: Chmela,Michael Stephen, Stanley`s Son
My great grandmother's brother's name was William Chmela (he may have been born with the name Vaclav and later it was Americanized). He lived and died in Allentown. He was born in NYC in August 1879. I believe he had 2 children: William and Charles. He was married to Barbara Herbeck. His parents were Jan (a/k/a Johann or John) Chmela and Anna Markarius. You can find their information under the Family Trees section of Ancestry. He was my great grandmother's favorite brother and she was heartbroken when he died.
